Description
Perfect for a desert drive
Off road, the Bronco rules. In the mid-sixties, the Bronco started rolling off the lines and Bill Stroppe Racing entered them into the Baja 500 and Mexican 1000 races. After big wins in both events, Ford started offering specially made Baja Broncos to select dealers in the early seventies. Kit features detailed V-8, separate frame, removable top, swing away spare tire, roll bar, back seat, lots of chrome plated parts, and soft black tires.
BAJA BRONCO
When Ford introduced the Bronco in 1965, off road
racing was a logical way to promote the truck. So,
in association with Bill Stroppe Racing, Broncos
were entered into the Baja 500 and Mexican 1000
races. In 1971, after winning both of these events,
Ford offered specially prepared Baja Broncos at
selective dealers.
Basic Broncos were built by Ford and then sent to
the Bill Stroppe shop to be converted to the Baja
Bronco. This included numerous modifications to
the drive train and bodywork. The modified trucks
were then shipped to the dealers. In all, between
1971 and 1975, over 450 Baja Broncos were sold
at a price of $5,566.00
